Aza Oroku Hawaii Hall / Hawaii Memorial Hall Site Monument
Post date :
Before the war, many people moved to Hawaii from Aza Oroku. In the war of 1945, Okinawa became empty, and the people from Aza Oroku living in Hawaii must have been very worried about their parents, brothers, relatives and friends in Aza Oroku. For the reconstruction of the scorched earth of Oroku in 1952, a native of Hawaii's Aza Oroku received a large gift of 10,000 dollars to build a library at Oroku Elementary School and a community center in Oroku and Tabaru.
Later, Oroku Elementary School used the library as the teachers' room (Hawaii Hall) because the teachers' room was flooded every time there was a typhoon.
Later, it was decided that the teachers' room (Hawaii Hall) would be demolished in order to build a new school building, but I had informed both the Aza Oroku and Hawaii Oroku AzaJin Kai about the demolition.
Even now, a picture of the then teacher's room (Hawaii Hall) is displayed in the principal's office.
In addition, the community center of Aza Oroku was gradually deteriorated, and the ceiling boards were worn down and became unusable due to leaking due to deterioration of concrete, especially roofs and eaves. Therefore, in order to express our gratitude to the members of the Oroku Azajin Kai in Hawaii for a long time, and because we wanted to use it for the residents' association and so on, we made a major renovation by improving the water closet and sink in the building.
He named the hall "Aza Oroku Hawaii Kaikan" in order to express his gratitude and gratitude to the Oroku Azajin Kai in Hawaii. At present, the youth group of Aza Oroku uses it to repair the Hatagashira.
When the 50 year anniversary memorial project of Oroku Elementary School was carried out in 1997, "the Hawaii Memorial Hall Monument" called "Habatake" was built right next to the school gate. It was created with the aim of not forgetting to be thankful for the huge donations and relief goods that were given to us.
Umachi, which is held in June in the lunar calendar, is scheduled to be held on Friday, July 27, 2018.
Gunguachi Umachi
On Thursday, June 28, 2018, the Gunguachi Umachi was held. Each Munchu gathered to pray for the peace and prosperity of the family.
