What is the Aza Oroku Hitory Book Editorial Board?
In recent years, there have been many activities in various parts of Okinawa Prefecture and in the former Oroku Village area to reevaluate, research, record, and edit the lives and production activities, customs and culture, and unique island language of the people of the past, and to publish a history book. The purpose of this project is to learn about the history of Oroku and to link it to the future development and revitalization of the town by publishing history books. In Aza Oroku, the Society of property administration of Aza Oroku has been preparing to publish a history book for several years to publish a history book, and has now established an editorial committee to begin the editing process. This is a noteworthy activity for the central village of the former Oroku Village. The activity of editing the history book cannot be accomplished without the active support and cooperation of all the people in the Oroku area. We respectfully ask for your cooperation.

Greetings
For what purpose do we make history books? For whom do we make history books? What do you all think?
I thought it was because we want to cherish what we call "Aza Oroku" and we want the next generation to cherish it as well. We are creating a history book for the community, but also for ourselves.
But what is "Aza Oroku"? What is "Urukunchu"?
Why don't we express our cherished "Aza Oroku" in this history book? By working with this in mind, I am sure that we will be able to create a warm history book that conveys our "feelings" to the reader.
I would like to conclude with a sentence that describes the significance of the creation of a history book.
"The activity of the history book, a shared and collaborative effort of a group of amateurs, is for the individual a task of rediscovering, learning, and communicating about the community with a purpose in life. Lifelong learning and the creation of a purpose in life for the individual are subtly realized in the history books."
"Creating a history book is truly a fun, intergenerational activity. It creates intergenerational exchange and activates individuals beyond the inside. It helps one discover and appreciate one's own region, and helps in the movement to revitalize the region."
